Terms of service
These terms describe how we work together: what a quote covers, how payment and scope work, and — the part that matters most — what you own at the end. They are written to match how this business actually operates, not copied from a template that promises things we do not do. If anything here is unclear, ask us before you commit.
About these terms
Spokane Web Design Co is a brand of Salterra Digital Services, LLC, which fulfills the work. These terms apply to website design, development and related services we provide, and to your use of this website, spokanewebdesigncompany.com. A specific project may have its own written quote or agreement; where that quote and these general terms differ, the quote governs that project.
We build remotely for businesses in the Spokane area and the wider Inland Northwest. We do not operate a physical storefront, and nothing in these terms should be read to imply one.
Quotes and payment
Our standard prices are published on the pricing page and are current when you read them: a new website starts at $499 for up to 15 pages, $999 for 16 to 50, and $1,499 for 51 or more. Work that does not fit a tier — a store, a booking or quoting tool, or a compliance-heavy build — is quoted individually, in writing, before it starts. Hosting, maintenance, SEO and content are separate services priced on their own pages.
The exact payment schedule for your project is set out in your quote. We will not begin a build before the terms of it are agreed in writing, and we will not surprise you with a charge that was not in the quote. If the scope of the work changes while it is underway, we tell you what that changes about the price before we act on it.
Scope and revisions
A quote describes what is included: the number of pages, the services and anything specific we have agreed. Anything outside that description is out of scope until we both agree to add it, at which point it is quoted the same way. This is not a way to nickel-and-dime you — it is how both sides stay clear on what was bought.
You approve the design before the build begins. That approval step is built into the process on purpose, so that changes happen when they are cheap rather than after a site is finished. Reasonable revisions within the agreed scope are part of the work; a change that expands the scope is quoted as additional work, and we will always say which is which.
Building your site depends on you too — we need the content, images, access and answers a project requires, in reasonable time. If those are delayed, the timeline in your quote may move with them, and we will tell you when that happens rather than let a date quietly slip.
Ownership and handover
This is the important one. When your project is paid in full, you own it — the finished website and its files, the domain registered in your name, and the hosting account under your own billing and login. Ownership transfers to you on completion; we do not hold your site, your domain or your data hostage to keep you as a client.
You are free to leave at any time and take everything with you. If you ask, we hand over the files and cooperate with a move to another provider promptly. Any third-party components in your site — for example a stock photo, a font or a plugin — remain subject to their own licenses, and we will tell you where any of those apply.
What we can and cannot promise
We build carefully and we stand behind our work, but there are things no honest web company can promise, and we would rather name them than bury them.
We do not guarantee search rankings. We build sites to be found — structure, speed, schema and content are all part of the work — but no one can honestly promise a specific position on Google, and anyone who does is selling you something they cannot deliver.
We do not guarantee a particular sales or traffic result. Too much of that depends on your market, your pricing and your business. What we guarantee is that the work described in your quote is done to a professional standard. Beyond that, the site is provided as built, and our responsibility for any single project is limited to what you paid us for it.
Changes, and getting in touch
We may update these terms as the business changes; the current version always lives on this page, and it governs work agreed after it is posted. A change here does not alter the terms of a project already quoted and underway — that project is governed by the quote and the terms in force when it was agreed.
